The Friends for Friends Board met on March 27, 2008 and approved the dispersal of funds in the amount of $1,500 each for four families in need.

The first two nominations centered around two young boys who are waging very courageous battles against their respective neurological disorders...One boy is coping with the effects of cerebral palsy, and the other boy has been diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis, a condition that produces numerous tumors on the bones, as well as throughout the nervous system and on the skin surface...

They had met as first graders at Holy Cross School and continued their friendship through graduation from Cardinal O'Hara High School, followed by college, marriage and beyond. "First and foremost I want to thank you for the help FfF gave to Tyler. Tyler and his family were presented the check earlier today. I was not there but my friend Diane Coughlan , a recent FfF member visited the family and gave them the check and FfF literature.

While we know that the monetary assistance we offer may not alleviate the burden of crisis, we are assured that the sense of well-being that is promoted is beyond financial measure. So we commit ourselves to work in concert on behalf of our FRIENDS.

FfF Bowl-a-Thon

On behalf of your Executive Board, we would like to thank all the members and their guests who made our first annual FfF Bowl-A-Thon event a great success. It is your consistent generous spirit that allows us to offer our continued financial support to our neighbors in need.

"One of the best organizations out's all about helping others."

"Thank you Friends of Friends for your donation to Larry Lowery's family. Your very generous donation is very appreciated. Larry left 3 children under the age of 4 1/2. His mother Barbara at the young age of 62 is raising the children. When I phoned her yesterday about your donation she cried. Happy tears and said thank you a million times. I know she will thank you herself but wanted you to know your donation is a wonderful gift to a beautiful family. Thank you again and Happy Holidays."
