Heart-felt Gifts to Two in Need

January 27, 2010

Friends for Friends received two nominations this past month. The Executive Board met on January 25, 2010 and donated $1,500.00 to both families.

The First donation went to a fifth grader who came down with swine flu (H1N1) this past November. The boy was on life support for 36 days. During his 36 days in the hospital, he lost circulation in his feet while on life support, and had to have bilateral below the knee amputations this Christmas Eve. He will remain at DuPont for several more months while he continues to receive rehabilitation.

Our second donation went to a young family whose mother passed away after complications while giving child birth to their third child.

Our hearts and prayers go out to both of these families.

Thanks to your membership and support we were able to help out these two families. Our next money raiser is our Trivia Night @ Cardinal O’Hara on March 13, 2010.
