On a Friends for Friends business note, the FfF executive board met on Feb 16th and approved the dispersal of $4,000.00 in funds to three families dealing with challenging circumstances.

In recent weeks, your Friends for Friends Executive Board met to review the donation nominations on hand, and to put the finishing touches on a brand new website that will keep you better informed on the operations of FfF.

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who took part in last month's Friends for Friends golf outing. Last month's event was our 14th straight year on the links and it was another rewarding day. Thanks to the generous support of our golfers and hole sponsors we raised over $12,500 (which is an FfF golf outing record) that will help fund our donation plans for the coming months.

Friends for Friends received two nominations this past month. The Executive Board met on January 25, 2010 and donated $1,500.00 to both families.

I wanted to bring you up to date on our most recent donations. In the spirit of Christmas, Friends for Friends helped family whose mother lost her battle of cancer and left behind three children ages seven, nine, and thirteen.  To help with some of the burden and expenses during Christmas FfF donated $1,500.00.

The Board met on 11.24.08 to discuss a nomination for a young family who lost their mother/wife after the birth.  Three months after birth of her first child this young mother of 27 year was diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.  Friend for Friends has donated $1,000 to help pay for some of the child care expenses.

The Friends for Friends executive board met on Oct 16, 2008 and approved the dispersal of funds totaling $2,500.00 for three families in need. The first nomination was in the amount of $500.00 and went to assist a young woman with her college expenses. This area student, who 11 years ago buried her father and last month laid her mother to rest, is working tirelessly to finish her senior year and graduate in the spring.

The Friends for Friends Board met on March 27, 2008 and approved the dispersal of funds in the amount of $1,500 each for four families in need. The first two nominations centered around two young boys who are waging very courageous battles against their respective neurological disorders...One boy is coping with the effects of cerebral palsy, and the other boy has been diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis, a condition that produces numerous tumors on the bones, as well as throughout the nervous system and on the skin surface...
