Donations to Three Families

Holy and holiday season of Christmas

The Holy and holiday season of Christmas always brings into focus the understanding that the real joy of the season comes from what we are able to give, rather than what we receive.

Dear Members,

I hope this note finds you well and that you had the opportunity to gather for a relaxing Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends…It is in this spirit that Friends for Friends would like to make a donation to a local family with small children who may not be able to provide Christmas gifts for their young ones.

If you know a family who we could help have a little brighter Christmas, please submit a nomination to the email or mailing address below. A brief description of the family’s situation and their contact information is all that is needed.

In other FfF business, the Executive Board met last month and approved the dispersal of $1,000.00 donations to three families dealing with their own very unique crisis.

The first donation was for a father of two who is out of work and battling the ill effects of epilepsy.

The second donation was for a family whose 18-year-old daughter has undergone three operations for brain cancer. This young girl’s strength is remarkable and FfF wanted her to know she is not alone in her fight.

And the third donation was to help lighten the financial load of a young couple dealing with the stressful realities of child adoption.

The Friends for Friends donations to these three families represent your generosity and concern for the struggles of our neighbors in need.

It is with your continued financial support that FfF is able to touch the lives of so many people in our area. And while our donations are never the solution to any recipient’s problems, we are told repeatedly that knowing they are not alone in the hour of need provides immense comfort to them.

Please help us continue the meaningful work of Friends for Friends by renewing your dues for 2012, and by recruiting one new member to join the FfF family.

Dues are again $50.00 for the year and can be mailed to the address listed below, or simply visit our website and make an online payment.

One final note, the date for our always-popular FfF Trivia Night is set for February 18th and will be held again at Cardinal O’Hara High School. Tickets will be on sale soon, so get your team and table reservations ready!

Thank you for being a members and making a difference. May you and all of your loved ones have a Blessed holiday season.
